Like you, there are many things of which I am absolutely certain…

I love my wife, Helen, and our children, Gracie, Ava and Thomas. The sun will come up tomorrow. My pants will go on one leg at a time. And, death and taxes are certain.

These are just a few of my “knowns.” I’ll share a few more a little further down in your reading.

However, there are as many, or more,“unknowns” in my life. For your benefit, I want to talk about one of those “unknowns” in particular.

Our Preferred Client Relations Representatives are asked on a daily basis, “What will the commodities market do in the next _____ (fill in the time frame).” Or, just as commonly, they hear clients say they are waiting for the dip in the market they “know” is about to come.

Now, I have bought and sold precious metals and foreign currencies successfully for the past 16 years. And, for the majority of that time, I had the benefit of the knowledge, guidance, and expertise of Michael Checkan and Glen O. Kirsch. Both 40-year veterans of this business. Some of you may have a portion of your portfolio placed in cash currencies from around the world and some of you may never have considered it. For just one moment, I would like you to consider currencyi in and of itself.

What is the purpose of currency? Where do you find it? How is it involved in everyday life? Is there one moment in time where currency somewhere in the world is not being exchanged in some form or fashion?

When reflecting on the concept of currency itself, it is easy to realize that currency is everywhere and that money truly “never sleeps.” It is also important to remember that each individual currency is tied to the country that it represents and their stability and strength of economy.
