ASI GIVES BACK TO ITS COMMUNITY

Each year, ASI proudly supports The Children’s Hospital Foundation and Send a Kid to Camp through the fund raising efforts of The Washington Post.

The Children's Hospital Foundation raises money to support the vital role Children's National Medical Center plays in improving the health of children in the nation's capital, across the country, and around the world. The generosity of individual donors, corporations, and community organizations makes it possible for Children's experts to tackle the health care needs of children today and lead the way to tomorrow's cures.

Since 1904, the private, nonprofit group Family Matters of Greater Washington has provided opportunities for less-fortunate children to attend summer camp.

Family Matters operates Camp Moss Hollow, a rustic 400-acre site nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Markham, Va. The camp features a pond for canoeing, swimming pool, ropes course, arts program, many hiking trails and first-class counselors.

Every year, nearly 700 children receive the opportunity to experience this life-changing program. Most of the campers lead troubled lives; many of them come from foster homes.  None could afford a week at camp without this support.  ASI supports Send A Kid to Camp every year through the Washington Post’s fund raising efforts.

The Sigma Chi Foundation

The Sigma Chi Foundation is the legal entity by which funds are established to memorialize an individual.  Additionally, it is a public charity and all contributions, in any amount, are tax deductible if made through the Sigma Chi Foundation.  There is a scholarship fund optioni, which would serve as a lasting legacy and tribute of Glen O. Kirsch, ASI founder.

Sigma Chi Scholarship Fund:  This fund will be specific to Glen O. Kirsch and would be an endowed scholarship with an annual award of $2,000.   However, the monetary requirement to set up a new scholarship fund in Glen Kirsch’s name is $50,000.  His family appreciates any and all help in whatever amount you choose.  Checks in any amount should be made payable to the Sigma Chi Foundation.  Please note that the official name of this scholarship is to be determined.

Contact Information

Mr. Frank Raymond, one of Glen Kirsch’s friends and an Alpha Chi Sig who works at the Sigma Chi Foundation, has graciously agreed to be the contact person on behalf of anyone who fondly remembers Glen.  He will make sure that any money will be placed appropriately.
