90% Silver a.k.a. Junk Silver

We believe silver is far more undervalued than goldi. Unlike gold, silver has many industrial applications and demand for silver continues to climb, while investors remove millions of ounces from the market. Usually, high demand and lower supply equal higher prices. But, right now, junk silver coins at ASI carry extremely low premiums compared to other silver products. We also strive to have the lowest premiums in the country, but urge you to shop around, taking care to compare apples to apples.
What Exactly Is "Junk Silver"?
Circulated, pre-1965, US, 90% silver dimes, quarters and half-dollars are referred to as junk silver because they can not be considered numismatici or collectible. This is also the reason we think junk silver is a great way to buy silver. When first minted, a $1,000 face bag of 90% coins contained 723 ounces of silver. Because of wear, a bag of dimes or quarters will now net about 712 ounces of pure silver when melted..jpg)
When you purchase junk silver coins, you can request either all dimes, all quarters or all half-dollars. We can not guarantee denomination but make every effort to fulfill your request.
What Is a "Face Valuei" Bag?
Bags of junk silver are sold by "face value", referring to the legal tenderi value of the coins. Of course, the silver content of these coins, now exceeds the tender value. The term "face value" provides an easy, industry standard for measuring these bags, and for you to confirm your purchase.
A $1,000 Face Value (FV) bag contains 10,000 dimes, OR 4,000 quarters, OR 2,000 halves.
A $100 Face Value (FV) contains 1,000 dimes, OR 400 quarters, OR 200 halves.
$100 FACE VALUE BAG DOES NOT COST $100. A $1,000 FACE VALUE BAG DOES NOT COST $1,000. Based on silver content, your cost for either bags of silver will typically be many multiples of $100 or $1,000.
Why "Junk Silver"?

“I wish I had gotten started earlier with ASI, but I have started at age 72, with a three-bag purchase of pre-1965 silver coins from your company. I am absolutely pleased with the way Carl Weber handled the transaction. Dr. Eifrig recommended you guys to me through his Retirement Millionaire newsletter and he was right on, as usual. Thanks again and please save some platinum coins for my next purchase!” -D. Murn, FL
