In 1982, Michael Checkan and his business partner, Glen Kirsch, created Asset Strategies International, Inc. (ASI) specifically to help protect and internationalize your assets, without taking substantial amounts of those very same assets for their expert service. Rarely will you find one company that can coordinate all of your precious metal (including numismatics), foreign currencyⁱ, and wealth protection needs as fairly and honestly as ASI.
 

It all started in 1974, amidst Watergate, the first US Bank being declared insolvent, worldwide Inflation, gasoline and energy shortages, and worldwide recession. Two men met at the nation’s oldest and largest foreign currency and precious metal investment firm, at that time.  Eight years later those two men, identified a need for more personalized client care and asset protection services. Michael Checkan and Glen Kirsch left Deak Perera in 1982, with an arsenal of experience, and a mission:  to help clients diversify their assets globally using the precious metal and foreign currency markets.

Michael Checkan and Glen Kirsch first opened International Financial Consultants (IFC), now known as Asset Strategies International (ASI) In 1996, Michael and Glen identified another need and began to develop a Precious Metal Certificate Program with the Perth Mintⁱ in Australia. In 1997, they became one of only eight approved dealers in the world to sell the Perth Mint Certificate - the only government guaranteed precious metal certificate program in the world.
 

With more than 80 years combined experience, as of 2010, Michael and Glen’s partnership complimented each other’s area of expertise to the benefit of ASI’s many clients and ASI, itself. Every morning, before the bustle of the day began, the two men sat at one end of the long, conference room table strategizing for ASI’s clients. In the summer of 2010, Glen unexpectedly passed away. In testimony to Glen’s mentoring, the staff at ASI was able to continue servicing clients, albeit shaken, but without missing a day or even one deal.
